Green smoothie

I want you to make this smoothie, and to convince you, I can go on and on about why is good for you, I can tell you that is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, that it's a good source of omega 3, about all the benefits this power-packed drink has, but, I'm not going to do that. 

Instead, I'm going to tell you, no, no, assure you, that this smoothie is incredibly delicious. I know what you are thinking, is it going to taste like raw greens? The answer is no, don't let the spinach put you off. The secret is in the cinnamon, this marvellous spice (once used in love potions) balances all the flavours, resulting in a sweet, fresh and aromatic drink. So, go on! Give it a try and let me know if you love it as much as I do.

This recipe makes 2 servings, here is what you need:

  • 1 granny smith apple, roughly chopped 
  • 1 pear, roughly chopped
  • 250ml/1 cup coconut water
  • 25g/1 cup spinach
  • 1 banana, frozen or fresh, roughly chopped
  • 90g/1/4 cup cucumber, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp honey

Add all the ingredients to the blender. Blend on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes, until really smooth. 

Serve right away. Enjoy!
