Homemade juices are a daily thing in my mum's house, when growing up there was no lunch without a nice and chilled tamarind water or a sweet and smooth blackberry juice. But even though it's a lovely and healthy tradition, I don't really have the time to make fresh juice every day.
The weekends though, are a different history. I always try to make fresh orange juice or mix up some frozen berries to have at brunch. This refreshing Citrus & Banana smoothie is full of vitamin C and potassium, the perfect drink to blitz after an intense workout session or to bright up any gloomy day.
- Zest 1 orange (about 1 tbsp)
- Zest 2 clementines (about 1/2 tbsp)
- Juice from 3 oranges
- Juice from 5 clementines
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tbsp honey
- 5 ice cubes
Note: All you need is 1/2 pint of juice, vary the quantities of oranges and clementines according to this.
Place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Blitz away for a couple of minutes until everything is well combined and you have a smooth and even consistency.
